Android 11 Update – Features, Release Date, Phones List, Beta Release

As you might be aware, Android is the most used platform on smartphones, and iOS is following with restricted users. Last year, Google introduced Android 10, which is the latest version of this OS. Before the launch of Android 10, the company was using desert names with every single launch of the new version. But now we may not see it again as Android 11 name has been already confirmed for the upcoming release.

While the Android 10 focuses on security concerns, improved user interface, dark mode and some specific features for a foldable device. The Android R is expected to bring some exclusive features as well as particular modification in the older one. In the article, we will discuss Android 11 features, release date, phones list and many other criteria. So without any further delay, let’s start our discussion!

Android 11 Features and Improvements

As we have mentioned, Google had tried its best to enhanced security in Android 10. There are certain new features which we can expect from Android 10. A feature called “Scoped Storage” is one of them. It was earlier assumed to be implemented in the most recent launch, but it didn’t become a reality. The feature works as a junk cleaner, and there are already too many apps available in play store to perform an identical task. But it could be built-in functionality to removes temporary/duplicate files and clear junk files. Below is the full list of features what we can expect from the Android 11:

Android Beam

The Android Beam is file sharing feature, which doesn’t require any third-party app to share your files to another Android device. As it works on NFC, both the devices should have NFC support to accomplish this function properly. Most of the current era flagship arrive with NFC support, but mid-range still lacks NFC hardware. But yet a handy feature one would expect in Android 11.

Extended Video Recording Size

Android OS has up to 4GB for the video recording file. This file limit may be removed with the launch of Android 11. The current 4GB limit is too short for 8K high definition videos which 2020 flagship will support. The storage speed has been dramatically improved with the arrival of UFS 3.0. At least flagship phones can shoot sharper videos. Hence, it is required to remove this file limit.

Dark Mode Improvements and Scheduling

Dark Mode was one of the most anticipated features before the launch of Android 10. Google has already improved its functionality. But still, a few changes required. Dark Mode theme is currently limited to AMOLED display panels as they have excellent efficiency to save battery drain. On the other hands, Android rival iOS also implemented dark mode scheduling with latest iOS 13. Most of the Android fans are also waiting for this feature in Android 11. The dark mode scheduling can automatically set the Dark Mode according to the timer.

Some other features require some certain modifications. Chat “Bubbles” was the feature which the Google included in Android 10. Currently, only the main texting app and Google Hangouts is compatible with this feature. But we can expect Android 11 will consist of some of the most popular chatting apps such as WhatsApp, and more. Overall, Android 11 should bring a smoother user interface and some new features to be included.

Android 11 Release Date

Last Year, Google release the first beta of Android 10 on March 13 under the name of “Android Q”.  But official Android 10 name scheme was announced on August 22. There is no specific event when Google launches the latest version of Android. This year the company is rumoured to launch Android 11 in Google I/O 2020, which will take place from May 12 to May 14.
