WhatsApp’ wrote in its blog:

Earlier this year, we rolled out Touch ID and Face ID for iPhone to provide an extra layer of security for WhatsApp users. Today we’re introducing similar authentication, allowing you to unlock the app with your fingerprint, on supported Android phones.

Overall, it is a worthy step as far as security is concerned. It will worth noting that the previously same feature was available to Beta users. Finally, the company has decided to roll out a stable version. We have found in our usage the Fingerprint Unlock was working smoothly every time we have tried to unlock the app.  What are your thoughts? Do let’s know in below comment section!
