Kirin 810 vs Snapdragon 730 vs MediaTek Helio G90T – Antutu, GeekBench Benchmark Scores

Kirin 810 is based on 7nm process, which is rare in the mid-range segment. This term around, it has few more worthy competitor including Snapdragon 730 and MediaTek Helio G90T. All three chipsets are dominating the conventional market, even though SDM730 is also being used in some premium smartphones. On the other hands, Kirin 810 also boasts some powerful devices, but MediaTek Helio G90T targets only relatively low-priced phones. In this article, we will be comparing Kirin 810 vs Snapdragon 730 vs Helio G90T. Without any further delay, let’s get started!

Kirin 810 vs Snapdragon 730 vs MediaTek Helio G90T Specs Comparison

[table id=9 /]

Hardware and GPU

The Kirin 810 arrives with two powerful Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.27GHz and six power-efficient cores clocked at 1.8GHz. Snapdragon 730 is powered by the two Kryo 470 cores based on Cortex-A76. These cores are clocked at 2.2GHz, while, the other six Cortex-A55 cores points at 1.8GHz. Finally, the Helio G90T also packs dual-cluster CPU, where two higher Cortex-A76 cores run up to 2.05GHz and remaining six Cortex-A55 are pointed up to 2.0GHz.

All three use same powerful Cortex-A76 cores, but the Kirin 810 is built on TSMS’s 7nm FinFet technology for great power efficiency followed by SDM730 with 7nm and Helio G90T 12nm process respectively. Unarguably, Kirin 810 is a winner but with a small margin and the other two are almost identical. Moving further, Kirin 810 is coupled with Mali-G52 MP6 GPU, Snapdragon 730 has Adreno 618 and Helio G90T pairs Mali-G76 3EEMC4 GPU to handle the graphics-intensive tasks. Specs-wise, Mali-G76 is the latest one and more powerful, But Krin 810 achieve more scores due to great power efficiency and customizations.

Display and Memory

Both Kirin 810 and Snapdragon 730 support up to 3360 x 1440 pixels Quad HD+ display with HDR 10. Here, the Helio G90T lacks behind because it can only drive up to 1080 x 2560 pixel Full HD+ display and no mention of HDR 10 content support.

All three follow the industry standards for memory with LPDDR4X RAM support. But MTK Helio G90T has a slight advantage of up to 10GB RAM compared to 8GB on the other two and faster 1866MHz speed. Kirin 810 has its own ability to add quad-channel memory. Moreover, all three matching current industry standard with UFS 2.1 / eMMC 5.1 support.

Camera and Connectivity

The Kirin 810 SoC begs support for up to 48MP single or 40MP + 16MP dual cameras on both front and rear. The Snapdragon 730 brings multiple options to hold up to 192MP single camera after compromising in few areas. It can either support dual 22MP + 22MP camera. On the other hands, Helio G90T supports up to 64MP single or dual 24MP + 16MP cameras on front and rear.

For camera features, SD 730 has its own Spectra 350 modem for enhanced 2x Image Signal Processing. MTK Helio G90T has triple-core Image Signal Processing and Kirin 810 boasts 2x ISP. Frankly speaking, the camera department just can’t be judged by configuration, but at least on paper, Helio G90T seems to be the winner with higher pixel count and faster image processing.

For connectivity, Kirin 810 has integrated 4G modem with up to 1.4Gbps download and 200Mbps upload speed. The Snapdragon 730 also packs integrated 4G X15 modem with up to 800Mbps download and 150Mbps upload speed. Helio G90T has 600Mpbs download and 150Mpbs upload speed with the integrated 4G modem. All the other essential connectivity options are present on all three chipsets. Necessary APIs such as OpenGL ES 3.2, Vulkan 1.1, OpenCL 2.0, DirectX 12 also supported by all three.

Antutu-GeekBench Benchmark Scores

Starting with Kirin 810, it scores 2,746 points for single-core and 7,700 points for multi-core on GeekBench. Helio G90T scores 2,410 points for single-core and 7,193 points for multi-core. Snapdragon 730 with 2,548 points for single-core and 6,763 points for multi-core remains at the bottom. The Kirin 810 is a clear winner in the GeekBench results with a significant lead over Helio G90T and Snapdragon 730.

Final Conclusion: Which one is better?

First of all, these three chipsets are very capable processors in all aspects. Going with specs, Kirin 810 is the winner. It borrows most of its specification from Huawei’s last year Kirin 980 chipset with dedicated NPU. This is the only processor to adopt dedicated Neural Processing Unit to perform AI tasks.

Although there is not a big difference between all three chipsets, customizations play a big role. Snapdragon is known for its stability and power efficiency. Which I think Snapdragon 730 will deliver with the stable end-user experience. That is why most of the users’ preferer Snapdragon-powered smartphones. Meanwhile, MediaTek is infamous for its power-hungry chipsets. But Helio G90T is relatively a new chipset, so it will be interesting to see how it performs. What are your thoughts? Do let’s know in below comment section!
