Update 11 / 06 / 2019 – Xiaomi has officially started rolling out the MIUI 11 Global Stable public OTA update to Poco F1, Redmi K20, Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi Note 7 / Note 7 Pro and Redmi Note 7S. Overall, the first phase has been covered, and the 2nd phase has already started pushing Beta ROM to some devices.

The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi is best known for its affordable smartphones and custom MIUI user interface. Finally, the company officially announced the MIUI 11 update in China. It arrives with enhanced features compared to Stock Android for all the Xiaomi devices. Although being a custom skin, the company is a bit slower to provide the latest Android updates, and the same applies to MIUI 11.

Currently, most of the Xiaomi devices are running on MIUI 10 by eagerly waiting for its successor MIUI 11. However, the company has already started the Android 10 Q beta program for the Xiaomi Mi 9 based on MIUI 10, but stable MIUI 11 is still in progress. In this article, we will be covering all the aspects of the latest MIUI version and the full roadmap of stable firmware release.

Recently, Xiaomi completed the MIUI 10 beta face, which means the company will now focus on MIUI 11. The company confirms MIUI 9.8.29 version is the last beta version of MIUI 10 under its beta testing program. Today, the company started pushing MIUI 11 closed Beta based on Android 10 with limited availability. Of course, the latest MIUI11 stable ROM will take some time in development. Moreover, Public Beta will be available from September 11 in China.

MIUI 11 Top Features

The new MIUI user interface will be based on the latest features of the Android 10 OS; therefore, we can expect a lot of advancements over the traditional MIUI 10. It will borrow most of the Android Q features to use it on the independent environment of MIUI 11.

Revamped Settings Menu and User Interface

The MIUI 11 update to some Xiaomi devices displaying us the new icons and settings menu. Starting with the Settings menu, the icons are different colors and sizes, which could play handy roles to identify each icon instantly.

Another significant change is in system apps and menus. There is a big white space in between and big, bold text too easy to spot. It further adds improved Always-on-display features and a new cross-file-sharing platform that the company developed working with Oppo and Vivo. The new Always-on Display gives plenty of new options like changing the text color automatically over time, or enable Kaleidoscope with five different patterns. It is even capable of changing the light, depending on the daytime at your location.

It arrives with a new dark mode, which is a native feature of Android Q. We will have a completely new icon pack, changed apps drawer, enhanced AI capabilities, voice command unlocking, Optimised battery, smoother animations, and much more.

The Mi Work suite introduces cross-platform file sharing, large document transfer between multiple devices, smart screencast, and wireless printing. On the other hand, the Mi-Go suite is plugged with a smart travel assistant and brings a new “extreme power saving mode,” which facilitates a standby time of up to 24 hours with only five percent battery life.

Family Sharing Features

MIUI 11 consolidates three new family sharing features dubbed as Children Space, Earthquake Warning, and Family Guardian. Starting with Children’s space, it gives full control to parents to keep eying on their children. Further, it provides quality childhood content with smart eye-protection mode to preserve the child’s eye health.

The earthquake warning function notifies in advance with a pop-up window and the alarm sound to avoid any unfortunate incident. Besides, the nearest emergency shelter information is also available. Finally, the family guardian is a real-time location tracker to make you feel safer whenever you are traveling alone. All in all, the company executes significant changes to improve the overall user experience.

Xiaomi & Redmi smartphones List for Stable MIUI 11 update (China ROM)

The Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones list for China ROM has been formally confirmed at a launch event. Unfortunately, the company didn’t include Mi pad into the list, a sad moment for Xiaomi tablet lovers. The latest devices like Mi 9, Redmi K20, and K20 Pro, will get the priority over relatively old smartphones.

MIUI 11 Update Release Date Confirmed (China)

The company officially unveiled the full schedule of stable ROM availability in China. As we mentioned earlier, it is divided into three parts; first batch for primary devices, second batch for slightly older devices and third and final batch for remaining phones.

The Open has been released on September 27, whereas, closed beta is already available for limited users. If you are reading this outside China, the update can take a longer time, because the current list is only for Chinese variants. Let’s have a look into stable ROM schedule for China:

First batch MIUI 11 update in Mid-October:

These are the devices that will get early access to the latest MIUI by mid-October this year. Even, the company has already started seeding the beta update to Xiaomi Mi 9 and Redmi K20 Pro. We can see a stable China ROM in October month, as I mentioned above. Almost all the latest devices have been covered as well as some slightly older ones.

Xiaomi Devices

  • Xiaomi Mi 9
  • Mi 9 Explorer Edition
  • Mi 9 SE
  • Mi Mix 3

  • Mi Max 3

Redmi Devices

  • Redmi K20 Pro

  • Redmi K20
  • Redmi Note 7
  • Redmi Note 7 Pro
  • Redmi 7

Second batch devices in Late-October:

The second batch devices most will get the latest MIUI upgrade by the end of October. These smartphones relatively older and will take slightly more time to bring MIUI 11. The MI series is the company’s flagship series, so we won’t be surprised if they get it before the others. But the Redmi series has been top-rated among the young audience; it can’t be neglected either.

Xiaomi Devices

  • Mi 9 Pro 5G
  • Mi CC 9 / CC 9E
  • Mi CC 9 Meitu Custom Version

  • Redmi Note 6A
  • Redmi 6
  • Redmi S2

The final stage for remaining smartphones in Early-November:

The final stage of the MIUI 11 is for the remaining devices, which are uncovered in the above two lists. These devices will get public Beta MIUI 11 in early November later this year. Below is the full list of remaining devices:

  • Redmi Note 5A (both edition)

MIUI 11 update for Redmi Note 4 / Note 3 / Poco F1 ?

Even though Redmi Note 3 is more than a three-year-old device, chances are meager. It will make it hard to implement MIUI 11 features on old hardware. Still, the company can surprise us with an unusual announcement. In the current scenario, these devices are not in the list of MIUI 11 update. On the other hand, Redmi Note 4 is confirmed to get the MIUI 11 by the company itself.

On the other hand, Pocophone F1 is confirmed to get the latest MIUI 11 update. Recently, Alvin Tse, Global head of Poco Brand, officially confirmed that MIUI 11 is coming to Pocophone F1. Those who are using the Poco F1 should get ready to test the latest MIUI version. Its skin is very close to Stock Android, so, it is even easy to deliver the most recent update for the Xiaomi. The device is one of the early adopters of MIUI 11. It has included in Phase 1, that will get MIUI 11 between October 22 to October 31, at least in India.

    • Hi Suraj,

Redmi 7s ka Chinese ROM Available hai…Abhi kuchh din aur ruk jao, October 31 se pahle MIUI 11 ka stable ROM India mein aa jayega.

    • Which phone do you own? Only Redmi K20 Pro is eligible for the global MIUI 11 update as of now. Other mentioned Phase 1 devices will get it before October 31.

    • Hi,

People have started getting stable MIUI 11 update, but it is not possible to push the update to all users simulteniously. Don’t worry, you will get it soon or you can sign up for Mi Pilot for early update. One more thing to notice, have you applied for early updates? If not, please head to Settings > About phone > System ppdate > Update settings > and tick on “Receive updates early”. That’s all you need to do from your side, rest Xiaomi will take care from their side.

    • Hi Sachin,

I think it would be updated along with Redmi Note 4X because both are holding the same hardware. Redmi Note 4X is promised to deliver MIUI 11 stable update before November 12.
