Upcoming Xiaomi 5G smartphone likely to make debut as Mi 9S

Xiaomi’s next 5G smartphone has been rumored to launch soon in China. The device was earlier speculated to arrive as Mi 9 5G, but now it seems the name has been confirmed. The device is likely to make its entry as a Xiaomi Mi 9s according to latest data released by the Chinese telecom network “China Unicom”. Soon after, they realized that they have done a big blunder by disclosing the name of an unannounced device, and edited the post thereby. In the meantime, some netizens took a screenshot, later released by the Chinese tipster Ice Universe.

Subsequently, a device with model number M1908F1XE has been certified by the Chinese authority site TEENA by disclosing some of the specifications. According to the listing, the device will have 4000 mAh non-removable battery, a slight upgrade over 3300 mAh given in Mi 9. Rest of the specs to remain same as standard Mi 9. In a recent 3C certification, It showed to arrive with a 45W fast charging support. The device is confirmed to pack Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset under the hood.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 comes with 6.39-inch 1080 x 2340 pixels Full HD+ AMOLED display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. It is powered by the Snapdragon 855 chipset paired Adreno 640 GPU. The optics departments is controlled by the triple 48MP, f/1.8 (wide) + 12MP, f/2.2 (telephoto) +16MP, f/2.2 (ultrawide) and a single 20MP, f/2.0 aperture selfie shooter.

It has multiple variants with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The device runs on Android 9 Pie based on custom MIUI 10 skin on the top. All the essential connectivity features are present on this device. The device is crafted with all-glass design surrounded by metal frames. Security features include an in-display fingerprint sensor and face lock using the front camera.
