Exynos 980 was announced on September 4, 2019. It is powered by the octa-core CPU with 2x Cortex-A77 cores clocked @2.2GHz and 6x Cortex-A55 cores clocked @1.8GHz. It packs ARM Mali-G76 MP5 graphics processing unit (GPU) to handle the graphics-intensive tasks. The key highlight of this chip is the integration of 5G modem. It is the industry’s first officially announced SoC with integrated 5G modem.
Moreover, it comes with integrated NPU and DSP to manage AI tasks. It supports up to 3360 x 1440 pixels display with HDR10+ support. The chip can play and record up to 4K UHD video @120fps. When it comes to optics, it can handle up to 108MP single or dual 20MP + 20MP camera. It can achieve up to 2.55Gbps download and 1.4Gbps upload speed. Other features include WiFi 6, USB 3.1, UFS 2.1, eMMC 5.1 and LPDDR4X RAM support.
At the current scenario, we don’t have available Antutu and Geekbench given that the processor is relatively new. As soon as we get any clue, we will be updating the page!
