Exynos 9825 was announced on August 7, 2019. It is equipped with Tri-Cluster octa-core CPU with two custom cores (Mongoose M4), two Cortex-A75, and four Cortex-A55 cores. The chipset is built on industry’s first 7nm EUV process to provide enhanced power efficiency. The GPU is given ARM Mali-G76 MP12 to handle the graphics related task. It has dedicated Neural Processing Units (NPU) for AI task.
The Exynos 9825 supports up to 8K ultra high definition UHD video encoding and decoding. Further, it integrates 4G LTE-Advanced Pro modem and 8x carrier aggregation to provide up to 2Gbps download speed and more reliable and stable network connection, while supporting the 5G network with Samsung Exynos Modem 5100. Moreover, Exynos 9825 further adds UFS 3.0 flash, LPDDR4X memory, 4K display support, 22MP single or dual 16MP camera, and a dedicated NPU for AI tasks. In regards, the chip enhances power efficiency and stability compared to Exynos 9820.
