MediaTek Dimensity 720 was announced on July 24, 2020. It comes with octa-core Cortex-A76 CPU clocked at 2.0GHz high-cores and 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 lower-cores. The chipset arrives with Arm’s Mali-G57 MC3 GPU to handle the graphics-intensive tasks. It supports up to 1080 x 2520 pixels Full HD+ display with up to 90Hz refresh rate. It can handle up to 20MP + 16MP dual cameras or a single 64MP camera lens on both rear and front sides.
The chipset packs integrated 5G modem, which can deliver up to 2.3Gbps download speed while the upload speed isn’t mentioned on the company’s official website. All the necessary connectivity features are present. All in all, it is a budget-centric 5G chip built for affordable 5G smartphones. Being a new chip, benchmark scores are not yet available.
