Qualcomm recently introduced a new chipset named Snapdragon 732G, and Poco X3 will be the first smartphone to have the latest chipset. There isn’t any doubt Qualcomm is the current market leader. That is why we see new Qualcomm chipsets more often due to the changing demands in the industry.

The latest Snapdragon 732G directly competes with its rivals Snapdragon 730G and 720G. Indeed, there isn’t much difference between all the three chipsets. In this article, we will be comparison Snapdragon 720G vs Snapdragon 730G vs Snapdragon 732G. So, without wasting more time, let’s get into the point.

Snapdragon 720G vs 730G vs 732G Specifications Comparison

[table id=55 /]

CPU & GPU

The Snapdragon 720g accumulates an octa-core CPU using the 2x Kryo 465 cores clocked at 2.3GHz, remaining 6x power efficient Kryo 465 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. Furthermore, Snapdragon 730g packs latest Kryo 470 cores with two powerful cores pointing 2.2GHz and other six power frequency Kryo 470 cores at 1.8GHz.

Lastly, the Snapdragon 732g acquires similar Kryo 470 cores, but more significant cores are pointed to 2.3GHz compared to 2.2GHz found on Snapdragon 730g. The one thing is to worth mentioning that all the three chipsets use the latest Cortex-A76 and Cortex-A55 combination into their architecture.

All the three are built on 8nm manufacturing process. There is minimal difference between Kryo 465 used on Snapdragon 720g and Kryo 470 found on the other two. Even, we didn’t notice any performance change in real-world usage. The Snapdragon 732g and 720g take advantage of faster clock speed. Otherwise, you won’t be noticing any performance boost in real-world usage. But on the specifications front, 732g takes the minor lead over 720g and 730g with latest and faster CPU.

Moving to the graphics performance, all the three chipsets arrive with integrated Adreno 618 GPU. However, it looks the same on paper, but the company claims to provide a 15% performance boost to Snapdragon 732g in the graphics process. Therefore, technically, it will perform better than the other two chipsets in graphics hungry tasks. Overall, all three processors are designed for the gaming device. There shouldn’t be any issue with day-to-day usage. You can smoothly play most of the games at a decent FPS.

Camera

There isn’t much difference in the camera department. All three processors support up to 32MP single camera at 30 FPS or 192MP after making some reductions. The Snapdragon 720g is restricted to only 16MP + 16MP dual-camera support, while, the other two can support up to 22MP + 22MP @30FPS. So, Snapdragon 730g and 732g have a clear edge of supporting a sharper camera lens when it comes to dual-camera support.

Another difference is Spectra 350L for 720g vs the Spectra 350 for 730g and 732g. Both can handle Multi-Frame Noise Reduction (MFNR) and Zero Shutter Lag (ZSL), making them identical. But there could be optimisation changes which we can’t guess on the basis on specs.

Connectivity & More

Connectivity department finds some changes between these three chipsets. Snapdragon 720g focuses on specific markets as it has got NavIC, an Indian Navigation System. Rest of the specifications are identical. All three SoCs arrive with Snapdragon X15 modem, which can support up to 800Mbps download and 150Mbps download speed. Unofortutily, these chipsets don’t support 5G. The Qualcomm has other mid-range chipsets targeting the 5G such as Snapdragon 690 and Snapdragon 765g.

Other specifications include 3360×1440 pixels QHD+ HDR10 display, 8GB dual-channel LPDDR4X RAM, UFS 2.1 faster storage and all the major API support. Both Snapdragon 730g and 732g bring Quick Charge 4+ faster charging, while, the Snapdragon 720g is restricted to standard Quick Charge 4.

Other minor changes are in the AI department. The Snapdragon 720g arranges Hexagon 692 Digital Signal Processing (DSP), which should be performing better compared to Hexagon 688 found on Snapdragon 730g and 732g.

Antutu-Geekbench Scores

Antutu v8

Starting with Snapdragon 720g, the chipset begs 2,82,127 points in the latest Antutu v8. The scores are divided into CPU 1,03,012 points, GPU 70,829 points, MEM 51985 points and UX 56,301 points. Moving to the Snapdragon 730G, it scores slightly lesser 2,79,961 points where CPU department gets 96,779 points, GPU 70,500 points, MEM 55,295 points and UX 57,387 points.

Final Verdict

Before reaching the final verdict, I want to make sure that we didn’t found any big change, that can provide major advantages of any of the mentioned chipset. All three SoCs are made for performing equally good. The Snapdragon 720g targets specific markets like India, with its exclusive NavIC support. While the other two are designed for global usage.

Snapdragon 732 takes advantage of better CPU and GPU to outperform Snapdragon 720g and Snapdragon 730g. But you would merely notice the difference in the real world usage. Overall, Snapdragon 732g is the final winner with a little margin followed by Snapdragon 720g and Snapdragon 730g. All in all, you should expect outstanding performance in the mid-range segment doesn’t matter which one you are choosing.

Snapdragon 732g may bring some advantages, but at the same time, it will cost more money. But if you want to save some money, you can go with Snapdragon 730g or Snapdragon 720g as the distinction is minimal.
