Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G was announced on January 21, 2020. The chipset is powered by an octa-core CPU clocked at 2.3GHz for higher Kryo 465 cores. It utilizes the 8nm fabrication node to provide it great power efficiency. On the camera front, it can support up to 192MP single camera on both rear and front. It is the first chipset to support NavIC satellite navigation system, which was introduced back in 2016 by India.
The Snapdragon 720G runs on LTE modem X15 with up to 800Mbps download and 150Mbps upload speeds. The SoC has integrated Adreno 618 GPU with all the major APIs including OpenCL 2.0 FP, OpenGL ES 3.2 and Vulkan 1.1. All the essential connectivity options are present on this chip. Overall, it is a toned-down version of Snapdragon 730G with some certain modifications for 4G markets.
