CPU Performance

Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G comes with a tri-cluster octa-core CPU. Where the one powerful Kryo 475 prime core is clocked @2.4GHz, 1x Kryo 475 Gold @2.2GHz and 6x power-efficient cores @1.8GHz. Snapdragon 730G utilizes the same 2x Kryo 470 Gold cores @2.2GHz, while, the remaining six Kryo 470 Silver cores @1.8GHz. On the other hand, MediaTek Helio G90T chipset also packs the dual-cluster octa-core CPU similar to Snapdragon 730G. It has two powerful Cortex-A76 cores pointed at 2.05GHz and six power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores @2.0GHz.

It will worth noting that both the Snapdragon 765G and 730G also combine the Cortex-A76 and Cortex-A55 cores. But the company customize it according to their use under different marketing name. Otherwise, it has a similar CPU structure just like the MediaTek chipset. Moreover, Snapdragon 765G has great power efficiency with Samsung’s 7nm architecture node. Snapdragon 730G follows it with the 8nm node, whereas, Helio G90T 12nm processing node. It clearly shows that Snapdragon chipsets are less power-hungry compared to Helio G90T. Smaller the chipset size meaning it requires less power to achieve great performance.

GPU

The Snapdragon 765G adopts the latest Adreno 620 GPU, which according to the company is 20% more powerful than the Adreno 618 used on Snapdragon 730G. There are several other gaming optimizations made by the company for the latest 765G series to improve the gaming experience. The company calls it “Game-Changing” under an affordable price tag. The Helio G90T SoC coupled with Mali-G76 3EEMC4 quad-core GPU to handle the graphics-intensive tasks.

If we compared based on benchmark scores, Mali-G76 GPU is nearly comparable to Adreno 620. For real-world usage, we have to wait for real-world tests. Usually, Adreno GPUs are known for providing stable gaming performance. But the Mali GPUs are not bad either. We have seen several flagships smartphones offering great gaming performance under Mali GPUs. Overall, both Mali-G76 and Adreno 620 are well capable of proving stable and lag-free graphics performance. Moreover, MediaTek employs HyperEngine technology to improve the gaming experience.

Camera and Storage

However, Qualcomm didn’t make major changes in the camera department, but still, it has upgraded the latest Spectra 355 ISP to improve the image processing. Both Snapdragon 765G and 730G can support up to dual 22MP + 22MP or single 192MP camera both front and rear. The single-camera is restricted to 36MP MFNR, ZSL @30fps, but after making some compromisation in features it can be enhanced to 192MP. The MediaTek Helio G90T supports up to 64MP single camera @22.5fps or 48MP single camera @30fps. The dual camera support is 24MP + 16MP @30fps. It also includes 3x custom ISP for faster image processing.

Moving to the memory department, Snapdragon 765G is eligible to hold up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM. The Snapdragon 730G supports up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and Helio G90T up to 10GB LPDDR4X RAM. The storage is the same on all with UFS 2.1, which is enough to match the processing power. Overall, all three chipsets match with the current industry standards.
