Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro officially announced

Huawei sub-brand Honor has officially announced two new smartphones named Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro. Design-wise, both smartphones are the same measuring 163.1 x 77.2 x 8.8 mm, while, the weight is 206 grams of both the devices.  The key selling point of both the handset is motorized pop-up selfie camera and full display design. Both the smartphones pack some decent internals, which we will be discussing in this article. So without any further ado, let’s get started.

Honor 9X and 9X Pro Specifications

Both the smartphones are powered by the company’s latest HiSilicon Kirin 810 octa-core processor cloaked at dual cluster 2×2.27 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6×1.88 GHz Cortex-A55 CPU coupling with Mali-G52 GPU. These devices feature 6.59-inch, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 2340 x 1080p Full HD+ LCD display. When it comes to optics, the Honor 9X include dual 48MP + 2MP (depth), f/1.8 aperture rear camera, whereas, 9X Pro boasts a triple 48MP + 8MP (wide angle) + 2MP (depth) rear shooter. On the front, there is a single 16MP, f/2.2 aperture selfie shooter on both.

Furthermore, these devices pack 4,000 mAh non-removable battery with 10W standard charging and USB Type-C port. Software department is handled by the Android 9 Pie based on EMUI 9.1.1 out of the box. All the necessary connectivity features are included in both the devices, such as Dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, 3.5mm audio jack and GPS + GLONASS. The side-mounted fingerprint sensor is embedded in both the smartphones as a security feature.

Pricing and Availability

Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro come in different storage variants. The base 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant of Honor 9X starts from 1,399 CNY or 205 US$, which goes up to 1,899 Chinese Yuan for highest 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. On the other hand, the Honor 9X Pro base variant starts from 2,199 Chinese Yuan and goes up to 2,399 Chinese Yuan for 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage variant.

These devices will start selling from July 30 in China including various color options. Honor being popular smartphones brand among the international markets, we can expect the company might be thinking to launch these devices on other markets as well.
