MediaTek Helio G90T and Snapdragon 665 are the latest mid-range chipsets from their respective manufacturers. Both the chipsets are expected to be used some of the most anticipated mid-range devices from Xiaomi, dubbed as Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro. Most of you guys will be curious to know how these chipsets are different from each other. In this article, we will be comparing MediaTek Helio G90T vs Snapdragon 665. So without any further delay, let’s get started!

MediaTek Helio G90T vs Snapdragon 665

[table id=10 /]

Performance & Hardware

The MediaTek Helio G90T uses octa-core CPU based on 2x powerful Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.05GHz, while, the other 6x Cortex-A76 cores powers at 1.8GHz. On the other hand, Snapdragon 665 also accumulates the octa-core CPU but different structures. Powerful four custom Kryo 260 based on Cortex-A73 are pointed at 2.0GHz, while, the other four Kryo 260 based on Cortex-A53 clocks at 1.8GHz. Undoubtedly, Helio G90T holds a more powerful CPU compared to SD 665 by giving you smoother multi-tasking and other heavy tasks.

It will worth noting that the Helio G90T is fabricated on the 12nm process, but the Snapdragon 665 SoC is processed on 11nm for excellent power efficiency giving a sight edge on MediaTek. Moreover, both the processors are eligible for LPDDR4X RAM but slightly faster on Helio G90T with 2133 MHz speed. Both support USF 2.1 and eMMC 5.1 storage options.

Camera & Display

The Helio G90T can hold up to 64MP single or Dual 24MP + 16MP camera @30fps with tri-core Image Signal Processing, while, the Snapdragon 665 only support 48MP single or dual 16MP + 16MP camera with Spectra 250 dual ISP restricting it under limitations. However, the higher megapixel camera doesn’t mean that it will produce clearer images but gives an advantage for higher zooming capabilities.

Both the chipset can record up to 4K Ultra HD videos, and playback support is also there for 4K videos. Helio G90T has the advantage of recording 720p slo-mo videos @120fps, which the Snapdragon chip is locking. Both can support up to 1080 x 2520 pixels Full HD+ display.

Connectivity

The Helio G90T chip comes with an integrated 4G LTE modem, which can provide up to 600 Mbps download and 150 Mbps upload support. The same applies to Snapdragon’s X20 LTE modem with the same speed option. Other connectivity features include Bluetooth 5.0, Dual 4G VoLT, USB 3.1 support, 802.11a/b/g, and GPS.

Benchmark Scores

The Helio G90T scores 2410 points in single-core and 7193 points in multi-core on GeekBench; further, it adds around 2,15,000 to 2,25,000 AnTuTu score depending on the device. On the other hand, Snapdragon 665 scores 1526 points for single-core and 5600 points for multi-cores in Geekbench, while, the Antutu scores are in between 1,50,000 and 1,60,000 depending upon the smartphone.
