Meizu 16s Pro officially announced with latest Flyme OS 8

Meizu just unveils a new smartphone dubbed as Meizu 16s Pro, which is the successor of Meizu 16s. The new smartphone comes with minor changes over the standard Meizu, even the design is almost identical, but with new camera setup and upgraded chipset.

Meizu 16s Pro Specifications

Meizu 16s Pro is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 855+ chipset coupled with Adreno 640 GPU. It features the 6.2-inch 1080 x 2232 pixels Full HD+ AMOLED display at 402 PPI pixel density. As for optics, there is a triple camera setup on the back with primary 48MP, f/1.7, IMX586 sensor (wide) + 20MP, f/2.0 (telephoto) + 16MP macro lens, 117-degree (ultra-wide). It is well capable of recording up to 4K video @30fps and includes plenty of other features such as OIS, night mode, portrait mode, 6 LED flash ring, HDR and more. On the front, it has another 20MP, f/2.0 front-facing camera for selfies.

Subsequently, the company also introduces the Flyme OS 8 custom user interface with features including real-time AR emojis, Super Night scene 2.0, dark game mode 4.0 for the immersive gaming experience, Window Mode 2.0 to minimize any window into the small screen, and plenty of other features, which we will discuss in a separate article.

The Meizu 16s Pro runs on Android 9 Pie based on the latest Flyme OS development version. It packs 3,600 mAh non-removable battery to keep the lights. The audio department is handled by the dual stereo speakers combined with mEngine 3.0 to generate the immersive 4D audio experience while playing gaming and performing other tasks. As for storage, there are multiple variants with 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage, 8GB RAM / 128GB storage and 8GB RAM / 256GB storage. Further, it is embedded with an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Meizu 16s Pro price and Availability

The Meizu 16s Pro comes in four color options including Black Mirror, Vision Unicorn, Twilight Forest, and White Story (translated). The base 6GB/128GB variant is priced at 2,699 CNY, 8GB/128GB costs 2,999 CNY, which goes up to 3,299 CNY for the top 8GB/256GB variant.
