Huawei Mate 30 Pro to arrive with virtual buttons, air gestures and powerful wireless charging support

Update: In the meantime, Chinese media firm Ithome spotted Mate 30 series demo stand showing some of the key specs. According to the surfaced image, the Mate 30 pro will have 4,500 mAh battery with 40W SuperCharge wired and 27W SuperWireless fast charging support, super slow-motion video at whopping 7,680 fps, and Android 10 based on EMUI 10 custom skin.

Camera specs include quad-camera setup with 40MP + 40MP (ultrawide) + 8MP (telephoto) + 3D depth sensor. The standard mate 30 arrives with 4,200 mAh battery. Both are powered by the latest Kirin 990 chipset manufactured on 7nm+ EUV  process. The company separately confirms Super Slow-motion video support for the Mate 30 Pro in the latest video teaser.

Huawei is all set to unveil its latest flagship Mate 30 series on September 19. The new series brings four new smartphones including Mate 30, Mate 30 Pro, Mate 30 Lite and Mate 30 RS Porsche. The appearance of the all the phones has been already disclosed by a well-known tipster Evan bass. Based on render images, the Mate 30 Pro adopts the dual curvature waterfall display. Furthermore, the company today releases three new teaser videos of this smartphone, where it confirms different functionalities.

The company confirms Huawei Mate 30 Pro to arrive with virtual volume buttons or some sort of haptic feedback solution, similarly, we have found on the Vivo Nex 3. You can now control the volumes just by squeezing the display. The functionality could be enhanced to perform some additional tasks. The physical power button is still there on the right side.

It further adds some air gestures as well on the display. Although this is not the first time we have seen such a function, some Samsung and LG devices already get it to control various things. This time, we are hoping for a batter implementation. The Pixel 4 XL is also rumored to adopt the same feature.

Finally, the company teased more powerful wireless charging support for the Mate 30 Pro. It will worth noting that the Huawei has already got approval from FCC to use up to 30W fast wireless charging. The Mate 30 Pro is speculated to bring 27W SuperWireless charging support according to media reports.

Speaking to the specs, Mate 30 Pro will have a 6.71-inch display and standard Mate 30 display size is unknown. These devices will be powered by the Kirin 990 chipset. In terms of optics, the Mate 30 Pro is speculated to bring quad-camera setup designed by its co-partner Leica, expected to be 40MP, 1/1.5″ with a variable aperture of f/1.6 – f/1.4 main sensor, another  40MP, 1/1.7″, a 120-degree ultrawide secondary sensor and an 8MP telephoto lens third sensor with support of 5x lossless zoom.

The Mate 30 will have 4,200 mAh battery, while, the Mate 30 Pro likely to bring a 4,500 mAh battery with 55W wired SuperCharge and 27W wireless fast charging support. A recent disclosure emphasized that 55W fast charging could be exclusive to Mate 30 Pro, whereas, standard variant restricts to 40W charging.

In addition, Huawei Mate 30 Lite is rebranded edition of Nova 5i Pro, which is already available in China.
