The Chinese benchmarking firm Antutu has released its top 10 best performing chart. For the first time, three smartphones crossed 6,00,000 mark, which isn’t surprising at all as Snapdragon 865 is way more potent than its predecessor. One thing is to notice that BBK electronics dominate the full list except for the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Redmi K30 Pro. If you aren’t aware, OnePlus, Realme, Oppo, Vivo, IQOO all are the part of BBK Electronics with independent operations. That is the reason there are many similarities between smartphones manufactured by these brands.
Moving to the chart, Oppo Find X2 Pro tops with 6,04,123 points followed by Find X2 with 6,00,884 points and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro having 6,00,264 points. All these smartphones are powered by Snapdragon 865 chipset under the hood. After seeing the chart, we can surely say that SD 865 brings some significant improvements over Snapdragon 855 (or 855+ slightly boosted version).
Huawei dominates the mid-range segment.
Besides, Antutu also released the best performing mid-range phones, and the list is a bit more interesting. Oppo again takes the lead over other manufacturers. It’s Oppo Reno3 5G scores 4,03,607 points to dominate the list followed by Honor 30 having 3,87,583 points and Huawei Nova 7 scores 3,85,323 points. The one thing is to notice that both Kirin 985 and Kirin 820 score equally good in Antutu chart. To remind, Kirin 985 was last year’s flagship chip, whereas Kirin 820 is mid-range SoC of 2020 from Huawei. It means today’s Huawei mid-range phones powered by 820 perform equivalently good to last year’s premium phones.
Overall, Chinese manufacturers are taking the lead in the premium and mid-range segment, at least in terms of Antutu scores. However, we can’t judge the overall quality of a smartphone just by looking at Antutu scores. There are many more factors that makes a smartphone improve real-world usage.
