With the global launch of MIUI 11, Xiaomi had started rolling out the latest version of its smartphones. The company has already covered various Xiaomi and Redmi devices under the new update. Next in the line are Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A. Both the devices start receiving the Global Stable MIUI 11 firmware in India.

The new ROM for both smartphones comes as version number 11.0.1.0.PCPINXM, but the build for Redmi 8 weighs 600MB in size, while, the build for the Redmi 8A has a size of 544MB. As usual, the new update includes all the latest features of MIUI 11 and it is unfortunately based on older Android 9 Pie. As of now, we don’t have any clue when will it receive the Android 10 update. Albeit MIUI 11 is a highly customized version of Android OS, it won’t affect much, but still lacks few latest features provided by the Android 10 operating system. Moreover, the update brings the latest security patch of October month.

To recall, the company has decided to push this update in four phases. The first phase has been already covered, while, the second phase devices are next to get it. Redmi 8 and 8A were part of the third phase; Hence, the update is early than the expected time. Which is essentially a good thing for Redmi 8 / 8A device holders.
