Chinese firm Xiaomi has today launched the Redmi 8 smartphone in India as well as Ukraine. Indeed, it replicates the Redmi 8A with a fingerprint sensor and glass mirror design. Further, it adds some more storage and RAM variants and dual rear cameras.
Redmi 8 Specifications
The Redmi 8 smartphone features 6.2 inches 720 x 1520 pixels HD+ IPS LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered the Snapdragon 439 processor paired with Adreno 505 GPU to handle the graphics-intensive tasks. The optics department is controlled by the dual 12MP F/1.8 Sony IMX 363 sensor + 2MP depth sensor combination. On the front, another 8MP shooter takes care of the selfies.
The handset packs a massive 5,000 mAh non-removable battery with 18W fast charging support. It runs on the Android 9 Pie operating system based on MIUI 9 out of the box. Considering the storage, it arrives with two storage variants; either 3GB RAM / 32GB storage or 4GB / 64GB internal storage. Which can be further expanded up to 512GB via a dedicated Micro SD slot.
The company offers a splash resistance body for minor water drops, meaning you can feel safe holding your phone in the rainy season. All the essential connectivity options are present there. A rear-mounted fingerprint sensor is embedded for security purposes.
Redmi 8 Price and Availability
The Redmi 8 comes in Sapphire Blue, Onyx Black, and Ruby Red color options. The base variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage is priced at 7,999 INR, which goes up to 8,999 INR for the 4GB RAM and 64GB built-in storage. As far as availability is concerned, it will start selling from October 12 on Flipkart.com and the company’s official MI.com online store. Additionally, the device is also available in Ukrain for 4,499 UAH, which roughly converted into 180$ or 12,960 INR. There, it brings only a single variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
