Earlier this month, Redmi had unveiled the Redmi K30 smartphone in China. The smartphone comes in two variant – Standard Redmi K30 and Redmi K30 5G. The standard 4G variant is already up for sale in the domestic market. While the company promised to bring Redmi K30 5G in January without revealing the exact date. Finally, the company officially announces the launch date of Redmi K30 5G. The smartphone will be up for pre-order starting from January 7 in China via company’s official online store.

However, both the devices share most of the specification, but there are different chipsets under the hood. The Redmi K30 (4G) brings Snapdragon 730G SoC, while the Redmi K30 5G has the latest Snapdragon 765G processor coupled with upgraded Adreno 620 GPU. Another change is in the camera department. The Redmi K30 5G variant sports 64MP Sony’s IMX686 primary sensor combined with 8MP 120-degree ultra-wide sensor, 2MP depth, and 5MP dedicated macro lens. There is no major difference in camera arrangement on both the variants. But Redmi K30 4G uses a 2MP macro lens instead of 5MP used on the 5G variant.

Moreover, Redmi K30 accumulates 6.67-inch Full HD+ 1080 x 2400 pixels LCD display with Corning Gorilla 5 protection. The other key point is the 120Hz refresh rate on Redmi K30 series. It means the touch response is smoother in comparison to Redmi 20 series. It has 4500 mAh non-removable battery with fast charging support. The 30W fast charger gets a slight downgrade to 27W for standard Redmi K30 in comparison to Redmi K30 5G. The device runs on latest MIUI 11 custom user interface, that is based on Android 10 operating system. There are multiple storage variants with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of built-in storage. All the essential connectivity options are present on the Redmi K30 series.
