The Redmi K30 series came into existence last month. It comes in two separate variants with 5G and 4G options. The Redmi K30 4G variant with Snapdragon 730G was up for sale just after the launch. But 5G variant powering Snapdragon 765G chipset was initially scheduled to launch in January 2020. Recently, we have heard from the official Mi store that Redmi K30 5G will be available for pre-orders starting from January 7.
Now the Xiaomi’s founder and CEO, Lei Jun teases the Redmi K30 5G retail box. However, there is nothing special as it is a typical Redmi packaging. The “5G” letter highlights the 5G support for this device. Speaking of the specs, both the variants share almost equal specs expect for the different SoC and other minor changes. There is 5MP macro lens on 5G variant instead 2MP found on standard Redmi K30. Another difference is 30W fast charging support in comparison to 27W for the 4G variant.
Other core specs include 6.67-inch Full HD+ 1080 x 2400 pixels LCD display with Corning Gorilla 5 protection and 120Hz refresh. It means the touch response is smoother in comparison to Redmi 20 series. It has 4500 mAh non-removable battery with fast charging support. The 30W fast charger gets a slight downgrade to 27W for standard Redmi K30 in comparison to Redmi K30 5G. The device runs on latest MIUI 11 custom user interface, that is based on Android 10 operating system.
There are multiple storage variants with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of built-in storage. All the essential connectivity options are present on the Redmi K30 series. For optics, The Redmi K30 5G variant sports 64MP Sony’s IMX686 primary sensor combined with 8MP 120-degree ultra-wide sensor, 2MP depth, and 5MP dedicated macro lens. Overall, Redmi K30 5G one of the early adopters of the latest Snapdragon 765G. That supports dual-mode 5G, meaning you can switch in between 2G to 5G according to network availability.
