Redmi K30 officially confirmed to arrive in 2020 with 5G support

With the announcement of the Redmi K30 series, speculation has been started guessing its key features. There is no doubt Redmi smartphones have been very popular among the mid-range segment. The Redmi “K” series takes it to mid-range premium segment with top-notch specifications.

Xiaomi Group Vice President & Redmi GM Lu Weibing today officially confirmed Redmi K30 to arrive in 2020 with 5G support, albeit he didn’t reveal the exact time frame. Lately, some media reports had speculated its launch later this year, which now seems nothing more than an illusory contemplate.

Lu Weibing has been already confirmed that Redmi K30 will be arriving with dual connectivity SA / NSA 5G support; meaning it can utilize existing LTE infrastructure for enhanced connectivity. A photo showcased by the company reveals Redmi K30 will have a dual punch-hole style selfie camera. Besides, the handset is likely to be powered by Snapdragon 735 processor for the affordable variant. If the company follows a similar pattern as the K20 series, we will be seeing two smartphones dubbed as Redmi K30 and K30 Pro. Apart from that, other specifications are yet unknown. Unlike the standard K30, the Pro variant may arrive with Snapdragon 865 chipset under the hood.

Redmi K30 official render

The Redmi K20 was announced back in May this year. It arrives with a 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, Snapdragon 730 chipset, Android 9 Pie OS, 4000 mAh battery and a triple rear camera. The Redmi K20 Pro adopts almost an identical look with a more powerful Snapdragon 855 processor. Otherwise, it has the same configurations as standard Redmi K20. It would be interesting to see whether the Redmi K30 series perceives a similar solution or not.
