Japanise firm Sharp has unveiled 4 new smartphones for the Japanese market called Sharp Aquos Zero2, Aquos Sense 3, Sense 3 Plus, and Sense 3 lite. The Flagship Aquos Zero2 is the world’s first smartphone to bring the 240Hz screen refresh rate, whereas, all the remaining smartphones are mid-range devices with traditional design.

Sharp Aquos Zero2

The Sharp Aquos Zero 2 is the successor of the company’s flagship phone Aquos Zero. The handset brings top-notch specifications under the hood by weighing only 143 grams, which is even 3 grams lighter than the Aquos Zero. It is powered by the Snapdragon 855 chipset coupled with Adreno 640 GPU. On the front, it has a 6.4-inch 1080 x 2340 pixels Full HD+ IGZO OLED display. It will worth noting that it is the world’s first smartphone to offer a 240Hz screen refresh rate; even the Aquos Zero was first to introduce the 120Hz refresh rate on any smartphone display.

The rear side is surrounded by a dual Dual 12 MP, f/1.8, (wide) OIS + 21.2 MP, f/2.4, EIS (ultra-wide) rear camera and an 8MP snapper on the front. Lamentably, being a lighter device, it has two sacrifices its battery capacity. The device carries only 3,130 mAh non-removable battery with fast charging support. As for storage, 256GB of internal storage combines with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM. The latest Android 10 operates the device on the top of custom sharp UI. In addition, the device supports an in-display fingerprint sensor and face lock feature for enhanced security.

Sharp Aquos Sense 3 / Sense 3 Lite

Both Sharp Aquos Sense 3 and Sense 3 Lite share equal specifications. The only difference between them is that the Aquos Sense 3 Lite offers only a single 12MP, while, the standard Aquos Sense 3 has an additional 12MP, 121-degree ultra-wide sensor. An 8MP front-facing sensor is available on both the devices to capture selfies. These are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor with Adreno 508 GPU to handle the graphics-intensive tasks.

Both the handset packs up to 64GB of internal storage paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Design-wise, these devices follow the traditional pattern with thick bezels around the corner and a fingerprint sensor embedded on the front. The 6.4-inch 1080 x 2160 pixels Full HD+ IGZO LCD is available on the front. The battery pack is 4,000 mAh, and there is no confirmation of whether fast charging support is available or not. Both the devices run on Android 9 Pie out of the box.

Sharp Aquos Sense 3 Plus

The Sharp Aquos Sense 3 Plus is a slightly upgraded version of Aquos Sense 3 with better hardware and similar looking design. It incorporates a 6.0-inch 1080 x 2340 pixels IGZO LCD display on the front. The handset is driven by the Snapdragon 636 processor coupled with Adreno 509 GPU. It sports a dual 12.2MP (wide), EIS + 13.1MP (ultra-wide) rear camera and same 8MP camera on the front.

With the same appearance as Aquos Sense 3, the smartphone pack front-mounted fingerprint sensors. Additionally, all four smartphones are IP68 rated against water and dust.
