MediaTek unveils affordable Helio G70 mobile platform

The Chinese chip manufacturer MediaTek has unveiled a new chipset dubbed as Helio G70. It is the latest entry in the company’s “G” lineup after the arrival of Helio G90 series. Indeed, “G” latter stands for gaming, hence, we can expect some lower-priced gaming smartphones given the Helio G70 comes with lower-end specifications. Going with the specs, it somehow reminds us Helio P65, which have almost similar configurations.

MediaTek Helio G70 Specifications

According to the company’s official listing, MediaTek Helio G70 utilizes the dual-cluster octa-core CPU. Where two powerful Cortex-A76 core sit @2.0Ghz, while six power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores are clocked @1.7GHz. While there is no mentioning of fabrication node, we can expect it to be built on the same 12nm processing. But we should wait for the official confirmation. The chipset integrates the ARM’s Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU to handle the graphics-intensive tasks with 820MHz max. frequency. MediaTek claims to deliver optimal performance with relatively older hardware. At the same time, the availability should be at an affordable price point.

Moreover, it supports up to 1080 x 2520 pixels Full HD+ display, 8GB LPDD4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage. The maximum memory rate is 1800 MHz offering a decent rate for RAM.  As for optics, it can support up to dual 16MP + 16MP cameras or a single 48MP snapper on both rear and front side. It is well capable of recording up to 2K video @30fps or 1080p video @60fps. There are various camera modes available to tackle different situations. MediaTek core technologies such as CorePilot, NeuroPilot, Pump Express, Tiny Sensor Hub, Integrated VoW, and HyperEngine Game Technology are available.

All the essential connectivity options are present on Helio G70 with an integrated LTE modem. That can deliver up to 300 Mbps download and 150Mbps upload speeds. As for availability, we should soon hear more from the company. For further information, stay tuned with us! What are your thoughts? Do let’s know in below comment sections!
