Qualcomm recently showcased the Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 765 / 765G chipsets at Qualcomm Tech Summit 2019 in Hawaii, USA. Just after the unveiling of new chips, mobile manufacturer companies have started making announcements regarding their upcoming phones. Xiaomi has already confirmed that Xiaomi Mi 10 will be arriving with Snapdragon 865 flagship chip under the hood, while, Redmi K30 to use Snapdragon 765G.

In the meantime, a surprising declaration came from the Chinese firm Meizu. The company revealed that it’s forthcoming Meizu 17 smartphone will be the first phone to carry the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor. The release date may take place somewhere in the Q1, 2020, as the Weibo post says, “See you in spring 2020.” Being a flagship phone, we can expect top-notch specifications out of the box. Some fan-made renders suggest extremely curved edges display, even though we haven’t yet seen any concrete evidence; Hence, it would be too early to make any comment.

To recall, Snapdragon 865 comes with an advanced 5G modem called Snapdragon X55, that supports dual-mode SA/NSA networks and faster DL/UL speeds in comparison to its predecessor X50. Further, The X55 brings both mmWave and Sub-6 GHz 5G networks with improved bandwidth on Sub-6GHz. However, the company didn’t yet reveal the full specifications, but it will most probably be using the latest Cortext-A77 powerful cores and new Adreno GPU to handle the graphics-intensive tasks. To know about its exact capabilities, we have to wait for the full list of configurations.
