Vivo X30 officially confirmed to arrive with Exynos 980 in December month

As you might be aware, Vivo and Samsung were jointly holding an event in China. As expected, Vivo has officially confirmed its forthcoming smartphone Vivo X30 to arrive with Exynos 980 next month December. It is understood that the Samsung Exynos 980 processor is the first integrated 5G SoC in the Exynos series, supporting both NSA and SA networking modes (dual-mode 5G).

Chinese media reports pointed out, Vivo had invested 500+ professional R&D engineers to fully participate in the custom development of Exynos 980 chipset, share 400+ features with Samsung, and jointly solve nearly 100 technical problems at the hardware level. To recall, Exynos 980 was announced on September 4, 2019. It is powered by the octa-core CPU with 2x Cortex-A77 cores clocked @2.2GHz and 6x Cortex-A55 cores clocked @1.8GHz. It packs ARM Mali-G76 MP5 graphics processing unit (GPU) to handle the graphics-intensive tasks.

The key highlight of this chip is the integration of the 5G modem. It is the industry’s first officially announced SoC with an integrated 5G modem. The chip comes with integrated NPU and DSP to manage AI tasks. Other features include WiFi 6, USB 3.1, UFS 2.1, eMMC 5.1 and LPDDR4X RAM support. It has a 5G downlink peak speed of 2.55Gbps, and under the 4G-5G dual-connection mode is 3.55Gbps.
