Xiaomi Redmi 8 to launch on October 9 in India

Yesterday, we have reported about Xiaomi’s upcoming smartphone Redmi 8. Finally, the company official confirms its announce date. It will be officially debuting on October 9 in India. Recent China telecom listing hints that soon it will be going to launch in China as well. Considering the specs, it borrows most of the features from Redmi 8A, launched a few days ago India. Apparently, it is a Redmi 8A smartphone with a dual rear camera and fingerprint sensor.

Based on recent TEENA listing, the device will be featuring a 6.21-inch 720 x 1520 pixels HD+ display. For optics, It has a dual 12MP + 2MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie shooter. runs on Android 9 Pie based on MIUI 10. For storage, the top variant gets 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, while, there are two more variants with 2GB RAM / 16GB storage and 3GB RAM / 32 GB internal storage. The fingerprint sensor is mounted in the back.

It packs a 5,000 mAh to keep the lights on. The device is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 439 processor coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. As far as pricing is concerned, it should be priced below 10,000 marks, most probably around 9,000 INR. Being an unannounced device, we don’t have pricing details available. For further confirmation, we have to wait for the official launch event, that will happen next week.
