Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro launched in India – Price, Specifications and Features

Xiaomi subsidiary Redmi has finally unveiled Redmi 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphones in India. These are almost equivalent to the same variants found in China, but the company has made some minor changes. The Indian variants get a Dedicated micro SD slot, and 18W fast charger supplied out of the box.

Redmi Note 8 Specifications

The Redmi Note 8 incorporated 6.39-inch 1080 x 2340 pixels Full HD+ LCD panel protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It utilizes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor coupled with Adreno 610 GPU. The device sports a quad-camera setup on the back with a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor followed by 8MP, 120-degree ultra-wide lens + 2MP depth + 2MP macro lens. It has a 13MP selfie camera on the front.

The handset packs 4000 mAh non-removable battery with 18W fast charging support. It has multiple storage variants including 4GB RAM / 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM / 128GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via external micro SD slot. The physical fingerprint sensor is embedded in the back, IR blaster on the top and it comes with P2i nano-coating splash-proof to save it against accidental water splashes.

Redmi Note 8 Pro Specifications

The Redmi Note 8 Pro is a real beast with a powerful processor for the seamless gaming experience. It boasts MediaTek Helio G90T chipset paired with 800MHz Mali-G76 3EEMC4 GPU. The rear is surrounded by a quad-camera module, where the main sensor is Samsung’s 64MP GW1 sensor coupled with 8MP, 120-degree ultra-wide lens + 2MP depth + 2MP macro lens. It runs on Android 9 Pie based on MIUI 10 out of the box.

The smartphone packs a 4500 mAh non-removable battery with 18W power supplied in the box, but it further provides support for Quick Charge 4+. The device brings three storage variants with 6GB RAM / 64GB storage, 6GB RAM / 128GB storage and 8GB RAM / 128GB built-in storage, which can also further expended up to 256GB via micro SD slot. It has an IP52 rated body for Splash resistant and other essential options are available on both the devices such as Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, NFC, and USB Type-C port for charging.

Price and Availability in India

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 comes in three Moonlight White, Neptune Blue, and Space Black. The base variant is priced at 9,999 INR, which goes up to 12,999 INR for the top variant. The Redmi Note 8 Pro, on the other hand, arrives in Gamma Green, Halo White, and Shadow Black color options. The device costs 14,999 INR for the base variant, while, the top variant is priced at 17,999 INR.

As far as availability is concerned, both Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro will be available for sale on October 21 at 12:00 noon in India. These smartphones will be exclusively sold via Amazon India and Mi.Com online as well as Xiaomi’s official offline outlets.
